IICCA Membership Categories

Voting Member - Certified

A Voting Member - Certified is one who meets the IICCA requirements of education, experience and references, and provides agricultural services to the public on a fee basis.  A Voting Member-Certified has also chosen to distinguish themselves by obtaining one or more of the following certifications:

·        Certified Crop Advisor (CCA)

·        National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultant – Independent (CPCC-I)

·        A Federation of Certifying Boards in Agriculture, Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences (ARCPACS)

An independent agricultural crop consultant is an individual who derives his/her livelihood from offering independent, objective advice in matters relating to crop production.  This person acts as a private contractor or is employed by a firm providing consulting services and the individual firm or parent firm does not sell agricultural supply products.  All Voting members must agree to conform to the IICCA Code of Ethics.  Membership fee - $75.

  Education & Experience:  Voting Members - Certified & Voting Members – Non-Certified must possess:

·        A four-year college degree in an appropriate agricultural field and have a minimum of four years of reputable experience in an appropriate field of agricultural consulting; OR

·         A Master’s of Science degree in an agricultural curriculum and a minimum of three years as an independent consultant; OR

·        A Doctorate of Science in an agricultural curriculum and a minimum of two years as an independent consultant; OR

·        A minimum of six years of experience in an appropriate field coupled with at least a four-year college degree in an agricultural curriculum and a minimum of two years experience as an independent agricultural consultant; OR

·        Ten or more years experience as an independent agricultural consultant.

Substitution, at the Membership Committee’s discretion:

·        Six years of non-consulting experience in an appropriate field may be substituted for two years as an independent consultant.

 References:  The applicant must provide references from individuals for whom the applicant has personally provided consultation services.  Investigation of these references should show that these services were provided in a highly competent and professional manner. 

 

  Voting Member – Non-Certified

A Voting Member - Non-Certified is one who meets the requirements of education, experience, and references (listed above), and provides agricultural services to the public on a fee basis.  A Voting Member Non-Certified is not certified as a CCA, CCPC-I, nor ARCPACS.

Provisional Member

A Provisional Member possesses all the qualifications required of Voting Members, except they lack the experience component.  Upon completion of the necessary experience, the candidate is eligible to be reconsidered for Voting Member status by the Membership Committee.  Provisional Members do not possess voting privileges.  Membership fee - $75.

 

  Affiliate Member 

An Affiliate member possess the training and experience of voting members, except his/her income is derived in part or total, from sources selling agricultural products or product applications.  Examples are consultants working for chemical companies or aerial applicators.  Affiliate Members do not possess voting privileges.  Membership fee - $50.

 

  Student Member

A Student Member is one who is taking training leading towards agricultural consulting as a profession.  Student Members do not possess voting privileges.  Membership fee - $10.

 

  Academic Member

An Academic Member is on staff at an academic institution.  Academics Members do not have voting privileges. Membership fee - $50.

 

  Honorary Member

The Honorary Member status was created to recognize those who have served the agricultural consulting industry with great dedication. Honorary Members do not have voting privileges.  No membership fee.

 

  Sustaining Member

Sustaining Members are firms that because of the nature of its business interests wish to encourage and financially support the goals of the IICCA.  Membership fee - $300.
